The course is structured in two progressive courses:

Advanced Professional Tailoring (400 hours)

and

and Artisanal Pattern Making (400 hours)

ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL TAILORING

The Bases of Professional Tailoring (400 hours) + Advanced Professional Tailoring (400 hours)

DESCRIPTION

During the first 400 hours of the course the student continues the training started in the first level course. The student will improve the acquired skills.
The program of the first-level course already attended is enriched by complex processes and craftsmanship finishing and details. The student will also enhance technical notions relates to the sketch and the fashion style.
Furthermore, the student will learn how to sew more precious and refined fabrics taking care of every work detail.

• Constructions of the 2th-level variants of pattern and tailoring
• Fabrics, materials and instrumentation (part 2)
• Fashion styles (part 1)
• Design of a fashion style of own choice
• Bases of the sketch (part 1)

DURATION AND FREQUENCY

Minimum frequency: 12 hours per week
Duration of the course: 15 / 24 months
Equipment supplied: Didactic cards, the manual of Il Teatro della Moda, Basic sewing kit

EXAMINATION AND CERTIFICATE

At the end of this first step of the course, the student will take an evaluation exam in front of a jury of internal members of the teaching staff and external sector professionals. At the completion of the exam, the student will obtain a professional certificate of professional tailoring.
After completing this step, the student will have access to the next 400 hours course. With this course the student will be able to achieve the qualification of Artisanal Pattern Maker.

ARTISANAL PATTERN MAKING

1200 hour course

 

The Bases of Professional Tailoring (400 hours) + Advanced Professional Tailoring (400 hours) + Artisanal Pattern Making (400 hours)

DESCRIPTION

During these following 400 hours the student is accompanied in expressing one’s creativity. This target will be reached by developing projects. The projects will include original garments with perfect fit, conceived, designed and created entirely by the student. The most advanced techniques of handcrafted finishing and manual decoration will be used.
At the end of this course, the student will be able to interpret a model / sketch. In complete autonomy, the student will reconstruct the different stages of realization.

In the last part of the course, the student can choose the preparation of a specific type of garment (e.g. Bride, Child, etc.)

• How to organize one’s workplace
• Technical data sheet for the manufacture of tailored clothes
• Notions of Moulage

DURATION AND FREQUENCY

Minimum frequency: 15 hours per week
Duration of the course: 18 / 24 months
Equipment supplied: Didactic cards, the manual of Il Teatro della Moda, Basic sewing kit

EXAMINATION AND CERTIFICATE

At the end of this second step of the course, the student will take a further assessment exam in front of a jury of internal members of the teaching staff and external sector professionals. At the completion of the exam, the student will obtain a professional certificate of Tailoring Pattern Maker.
Together with the certificate, the student will be given a detailed final evaluation form.

LESSONS

LESSONS for 4/6 hours
The days of the lessons will be agreed according to the needs of each student.
Limited number of students per lesson allows the best possible learning and assistance from the staff.
